Modeler is a powerful knowledge management application that captures, manages, and distributes product configuration and design rules. Modeler excels at transforming complex product information into usable knowledge.

Product models are published and used in Intangi's Ideas and Insight products to help you and your channels in the design, quote, manufacturing and technical support functions.

Capture Knowledge
Modeler captures complex product knowledge and packages it in an easily used and accessible form without the need for programmers.

Modeler provides a graphical design workspace where you can create a product model and validate its interoperability with other products. It provides a simple, orderly process to define products, functions and attributes in detail.

Not all product information comes from Product Management. With complex products, one cannot anticipate every possible environment or configuration. Feedback from the field, in the form of tech notes, is extremely valuable information. Modeler provides for "real-world" additions and corrections to the knowledge base. Over time and use, the knowledge base increases in value and accuracy.

Manage Knowledge
Modeler rightly puts the creation and maintenance of the knowledge base in the hands of information owners, rather than IT staff or programmers. This streamlines the process and makes the knowledge base current and accurate.

With the underlying role-based security layer, product information can be protected to prevent unauthorized access and use.

Modeler also simplifies the task of updating and versioning product models; this is one of the major headaches and ongoing cost of homegrown solutions or "configurator products."

Distribute Knowledge
Modeler delivers product knowledge to vendors and resellers for use by Intangi's Ideas and Insight applications. The published models are contained in a product catalog and their configuration rules are automatically run as the user designs. System-wide inter-product rules are continuously tested as the design evolves.

Once published, models are immediately available for use and automatically distributed to the Ideas and Insight applications. Modeler ensures that access to models is restricted by users' access rights.
